Recurrent abortions

If a patient has more than three abortions it is labeled as recurrent abortions. It is mentally, physiologically and physically demanding condition. There are some special causes for repeated abortions in first three months (1st trimester) and second trimester.

It requires series of blood tests and ultrasounds to investigate the causes.
Repeated abortions may be because of genetic causes which do not have any treatment while infections, auto or alloimmune disorders can be treated. Abnormalities and anatomical defects of uterus and cervix can be corrected surgically and also laparoscopically (hysteroscopically).
